The Banyan Fig (Ficus Benghalensis Audrey) has large, thick, oval shaped leaves similar to those of Ficus Elastica.
In their natural tropical habitat, the Banyan can grow to over 30 metres tall with a spread of 200m and are some of the largest canopy trees in the world. But don't panic, in their smaller house pots they can easily be looked after without taking over your home!
As a houseplant, the Banyan prefers well-drained but moderately moist soil. The soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings, and then thoroughly saturated. But ensure that they don't sit in water as this can cause its leaves to yellow and drop.
They enjoy moderately bright light and a temperature no lower than 10 degrees.
Approx 100cm tall.
Pot not included.
